The magic of compounding: why boring wins

A stablecoin strategy earning 1% per week will outperform a hot-shot trader doing 50% per month. If — and only if — you wait for the year to end. Compounding is the strongest force in crypto. It is also the most ignored.

The core idea

Small, stable returns reinvested automatically grow exponentially. Large, unstable returns statistically don't.

0.5% per day, compounded, is +518% per year. 5% per week with ±15% volatility statistically averages to roughly zero over the same year. The geometric mean of returns is always less than or equal to the arithmetic mean — and the more volatile the path, the bigger the gap.
