Creating a sub-account on Bybit

Bybit allows only one verified (KYC) account per person, but lets you create sub-accounts under the main account — up to 20 standard sub-accounts. For Mantix it's convenient to set up a dedicated sub-account, move the trading amount to it, and issue an API key for it.

This way the algorithm only works with the sub-account funds, and your main balance stays separate.

Sub-account types

Bybit offers several types:

Standard Subaccount. Only a username is created; you can switch between the main account and the sub-account in one click on web and mobile.
Custom Subaccount. A username and password are created — you can sign in to such a sub-account directly from a separate login page.
Custodial Trading Subaccount. For delegating management to a professional team. Not needed for Mantix.

For connecting to Mantix, Standard (or Custom, if you want a separate login) is enough.

Only the main account owner can create API keys. Transfers between the main account and sub-accounts are free and unlimited.

Step-by-step (desktop)

Step 1. Open the sub-accounts section

Step 2. Create a sub-account

Click Create Subaccount and pick a type — for example Standard Subaccount.

Step 3. Fill in the data

Enter the sub-account nickname (typically 5–20 characters, letters and digits only).
For a Custom sub-account, also set a password.

The sub-account nickname cannot be changed after creation.

Confirm. Pass 2FA if requested.

Step 4. Transfer funds to the sub-account

In the asset management section, move the trading amount to the sub-account. Transfers between main and sub-accounts are instant and free.

Step 5. Create an API key for the sub-account

Go to the sub-account page and open API Management under the chosen sub-account name. Create the key by following Connect Bybit via API (Read-Write rights with Trade/Assets/Exchange History, no withdrawal, with Mantix IP binding).

Creating a sub-account in the mobile app

Open the Bybit app and tap the profile icon in the top left to open the Subaccount tab.
Tap Create → Standard Subaccount.
Enter the nickname (5–20 characters) and confirm.

API key management and transfers are only available from the main account.

Useful to know

All sub-accounts inherit the main account's KYC — no re-verification needed.
You can switch between the main account and standard sub-accounts in one click.
You cannot withdraw directly from a sub-account — first transfer the funds to the main account.
