Creating a sub-account on KuCoin

A sub-account is an independent "mini-account" inside your KuCoin master account. It has its own wallet, its own security settings, and its own API keys, but it's managed from the master account. For Mantix it's convenient to set up a dedicated sub-account, move the trading amount to it, and issue an API key just for it.

Step-by-step

Step 1. Open the sub-accounts section

Sign in to the master account on KuCoin. In the header, open Account Overview → Sub-Account. Or click your avatar and choose Sub-Account.

Step 2. Create a sub-account

Click Create Sub-Account.

Step 3. Fill in the data

• Name — a unique sub-account name. It cannot be changed after creation.
• Password — the password for signing in as the sub-account.
• Remarks — optional.

Step 4. Pass the security check

Confirm creation: trading password, email code, Google 2FA or SMS code (depending on your settings).

Step 5. Transfer funds to the sub-account

From the master account, move the trading amount to the sub-account. Transfers between master and sub-accounts are internal and free.

Step 6. Create an API key for the sub-account

The sub-account's API key is created in the web version (managed by the master account). Create the key and connect it to Mantix following Connect KuCoin via API (Trade right, no withdrawal, with Passphrase and Mantix IP binding).

Useful to know

• Each master account can create up to 100 sub-accounts.
• The master account and all sub-accounts share a single KYC level and the same fee tier — no re-verification needed.
• The master account fully controls sub-accounts: creation, transfers, freezing, password and 2FA reset.
• To withdraw, funds first have to be moved from a sub-account to the master account.
